Why did the Ionians revolt against the Persians?
They had been under Persian rule for 50 years and wanted their independence back. The Ionians were not happy that they had to give tributes, farmland and their great harbors to the Persians.
Why did the Persians seek revenge on the Athenians because of the Ionian revolt?
The Athenians sent their navy to aid in the Ionian revolt and had success at first. The Persians beat the defeated the Ionians and then wanted revenge on the Athenians for having helped them.
