What is a contract?
A bargin between two or more parties, each of whom agrees to exchange something of the others desire to obtain

What is “project cost “?
total cost or estimated cost to the owner of all components of the project

Owner gives written approval for budget increase
Owner authorize rebidding

Have designer modify design to reduce project cost ( if fixed cost limit in contract, designer modify design without charge)
What are the 5 basic ways fees can be charged?
Fixed fee- Fixed sum of money
Hourly rate-Client is charged for the actual amount of time spent
Percentage of project cost- % of total cost of project
Area fee- multiply SF by fix rate
Retail method- Reseller of goods

What is a post occupant elualuation?
Review of a completed project after the client has occupied the space for some time (3-6 months)

This is the period from the starting date established in the agreement to the time of substantial completion.
