The folks are saying that they appreciate Atticus helping Tom Robinson.

Why did Atticus mean when he was explaining to Jem what had happened and said that “So far in life nothing had interfered with your reasoning process. There’s something in our world that makes men loose their heads-they couldn’t be fair if they tried”? What is Atticus talking about?
Jem thought that the evidence was obvious that Tom was innocent. Atticus is saying that those men in the jury were pressured into their decision even though the answer obvious.
Why does Jem say he now understands why Boo stays inside?

Bob Ewell got back at Atticus by spitting in his face.
What does Boo do to protect the children?
Boo killed Bob in order to save the children.
Why does the sheriff say Bob Ewell fell on his knife when it’s clear this is not what happened? What does this reveal about how some people view Boo?
Mr. Tate said Bob Ewell fell on his knife because I think he knew Boo had something to do with Bob’s death but he didn’t want to convict Boo. He doesn’t want to kill a mockingbird. Some people view Boo as a real human, denying this crazy tales of him.
