A collection of permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the
executive departments and agencies of the U.S. federal government. Its 50
titles represent broad areas of interest that are governed by federal regulation.
Each volume of the CFR is updated annually and issued on a quarterly basis.
Code of Federal Regulations
A post-incident meeting designed to assist rescue personnel in dealing with
psychological trauma as the result of an emergency. (NFPA 1006)
Critical incident stress debriefing
A program designed to reduce acute and chronic effects of stress related to job
functions. (NFPA 450)
Critical incident stress management
An employee-sponsored service designed for personal or family problems,
including mental health, substance abuse, various addictions, marital
problems, parenting problems, emotional problems, or financial or legal
concerns. (NFPA 450)
Employee assistance programs
Individuals or crews operating independently of the established ICS structure.
Freelancing
The U.S. federal agency that regulates worker safety and, in some cases,
responder safety. It is part of the U.S. Department of Labor.
Occupational Safety and Health Administration
Immediate and ongoing activities, tasks, programs, and systems to manage the
effects of an incident that threatens life, property, operations, or the
environment. (NFPA 1600)
