ch 19 equilibrium constants Flashcards
what do yo uput in the collums when calculating Kc
taking into acount the stoichochemistry molar ratio and after removing l or s
initial n
reacted n
equilibrium n
equilibrium conc
then you divide equilibrium conc by tot vols
what factor can impact value of K and how so
K value can change with temp.
with an increase in temp: Exothermic reactions K will decreases
Endothermic K increases
what impact does catalyst have on K
none no effect on the position of equilibrium or value of k only allows a reaction to reach equilibrium sooner.
how do changes in pressure and concentration impact value for K
they dont impact the value of K beacuse they oppose any changes made to restore Kc only tempory
what is the realationship between Kc and Kp
they’re proportinal we just se Kp beacuse pressure is easier to measure than volume when it comes to gasses
How is partial pressure calculated?
- calculate the mol fraction of that element (no of moles in x/tot mols present in mixrute) they wil sum to 1
- partial pressure is mol fraction x total pressure again these values willl sum to 1
Kc equation
Kc=[A]^no.of moles[B]/
products/reactants in mols/dm3
Kp equation
