Remarks/Restrictions
What are the required read-back items in the CAS 9-line?
4, 6 and restrictions. JTAC may request additional readback.
What is the required unit of measure for elevation in the 9-line brief?
Feet MSL
What is the difference between BOC and BOT
BOC is bomb on coordinates. Aircraft may not actually see the target and the weapon is sent to a static location.
BOT is bomb on target. Requires the aircraft to see the target or the target location and can be sent to a static or dynamic target.
What is the advantage of BOC? What is the advantage of BOT?
BOC: Employing asset does not need to be tally with target, target can be attacked quickly
BOT: Can hit moving targets
What is the FLOT?
Forward Line of Troops = most forward positions of friendly forces
What is a FSCL?
Fire Support Coordination Line = established by the JFLCC to reduce fratricide risk. Interdiction operations short of the FSCL require check-in with TAGS (theater air ground system) for situation updates, friendly locations and deconfliction. Interdiction ops beyond the FSCL may still require deconfliction with TAGS through SOLE.
What agency coordinates strikes beyond the FSCL?
Requires coordination with TAGS through the SOLE.
Define Air Interdiction
Generally conducted at such distances from friendly forces that detailed integration of each AI mission with the fire and movement of friendly forces is not normally required.
