Define spurling’s maneuver
Physician standing behind seated patient
3 stages:
- Compression of the head in neutral
- Compression of the head with extension
- Sidebend away from he affected side then toward the affected side and add compression
What does a positive Spurling’s Maneuver indicate
Positive test indicated by pain down the arm in distribution of the nerve root indicating nerve root compression
For CS MET/ART regional restrictor, what is the patient instructed to do
Create an isometric contraction for 3 - 5 seconds and then stop and return to neutral
Where should the physician’s arms be for CS bilateral forearm fulcrum forward bending
Under the patient’s head and crossed to allow for flexion and bending
To determine an AA diagnosis, what must the physician do
Fully flex with CS, this locks C2 - 7 isolating rotation to the atlas
Where should the physician contact the CS for performing a rotational diagnosis
The vertebral segment posteriorly on the articular pillar
