Requirements: Copy of DoC must be kept onboard each vessel under company’s mgmt and SMS Records Required for Audits
SMC is invalid immediately if DoC withdrawn (vessel unable to trade)
Interim DoC: Issued to new companies or those wishing to add vessel types to an existing DoC (must have satisfactory SMS and plan to implement it onboard to achieve ISM compliance within interim period)

2. Safely moor and unmoor vessel
3. Manage vessel safety when stationary or nearly stationary at sea
4. Prevent pollution
