Q

Describe purkinje cells in the CB :

A
purkinje cell layer
Big neurons
large 2D dendritic arbor
descending axon to deep nuclei

Q

Describe purkinje cells in the CB :

A
Granule cell layer (small cells)
small cell body
shord dendrites at the lvl of punkinje
axon ascend vertically from the molecular layer
glutamatergic (excitatory)
interneurones
synapse on Purkinje
numerous
main input of the CB

They form parallel fibers.

Q

Describe golgi cells in the CB :

A

axon and body in granule layer
medium sized
dendrites in the molecular and the granule layer.
It’s an inhibitory neuron, the granule cells excite the Golgi cells which will in return, inhibited the granule cells.

Q

Describe the basket

A

Inhibitory
medium sized
interneurons
located between granule and purkinje layers
Dendrites in the molecular layer
receive excitatory input from the granule cells
they synapse onto the Purkinje cells.
Their axons will follow a row of Purkinje cells and form like a basket around the Purkinje cells body.

THEY STRONGLY INHIBIT PURKINJE CELLS ON THEIR CELL BODY
can inhibit multiple purkinje c

Q

Is there a difference if the input came from cell body membrane or from the dendrites ?
