Gracile Nucleus

A

Receive sensory input from the lower limbs and lower trunk, part of the Dorsal column of the medial lemniscus pathway with the Cunneate nucleus. It conveys sensation of fine touch, vibration, pressure, two-point discrimination and proprioception (position) from the skin and joints.

Describe the medial lemniscus pathway.

A

Gracile tract : Take sensory information from lower limbs, goes up into the dorsal root, higher in the SC, joins to the tract the Cunneate tract. They goes up until the medulla and decussate at this level to project controlateraly, pass by the medial lemnicscus. Then it reach the ventral posterolateral nucleus of the thalamus and finally project onto the somatosensory cortex i guess
