Q

How does passive transportation work?

A
  1. By diffusion: Molecules need to separate when there’s too many of them
  2. Stuff needs to move in and out, they need an exit: the cell provides a tunnel through the membrane bilayer (channel: allows one specific material in (facilitated diffusion))

Q

How does active transportation work?

A
  1. Cellopolis sends materials through golgi bodies: golgi bodies do the same by packaging materials into vesicles and sending them to the membrane
  2. Membrane dissolves an exit for materials: they leave the cell ((exocytosis) opposite; endocytosis)

Q

What do pump channels do?

A

They do the opposite of diffusion, they also require energy to force things into crowded areas
