Cells Flashcards
What are tissues?
A group of cells of one type
What is a cell?
The unit of a living organism, contains parts to carry out life’s processes
What is the fancy name for the functions of the different parts of the cell

True or false: Plant cells have Chloroplasts, Vacuoles and cell walls.
True
What does the nucleus of a cell do?
Controls cell activities
What does the cytoplasm of a cell do?
C? Chem
Most chemical reactions occur there.
What do the mitochondrion of a cell do?
Aerobic respiration occurs there, so it provides energy
What does the cell membrane of a cell do?
Controls entry and exit of substances for the cell
What do the ribosomes of a cell do?
Think about sites..
It’s the site of protein sysnthesis.
What do the chloroplasts in plant cells do?
Absorb light energy to make food.
Go to Kahoot!!!
What is an organelle?
A small structure that has a function in a cell.
What does it mean to ejaculate?
It means to eject sperm out of the penis.
What does the vacuole of a cell do?
Helps to remove waste.
What do red blood cells do?
Carry oxygen around the body for respiration. They have no nucleus which provides more space to carry oxygen.
What do nerve cells do?
Transmit electrical signals around the body at rapid speeds. They are thin and long, and have branched connections at the end so that it can join to another one.
