Cell mediated responce Flashcards
1
Q
Which cells trigger the cell mediated response?
A
-cancer cells
-Antigen presenting cells
-Non-self cells from a transplant
-Infected body cells
2
Q
How do cytoxic T-cells destroy a cell?
A
Produce protein called perforin which causes holes in cell membrane.
-Allows water in and out of cell so will burst or go flaccid
3
Q
What is the cell mediated immune response model answer?
A
-Antigen is present on an antigen presenting cell.
-Helper T-cells with complementary receptors bind to the antigen.
-Helper T-cell is activated and goes through mitosis.
-Forms cytoxic T-cells and more helper T-cells.
