Indications
(1)
suspected meningococcal septicaemia (with non-blanching petechial AND/OR pupruic rash)

Contraindications

Absolute
-allergy AND/OR adverse reaction to cephalosporin antibiotics
-known immediate OR sever hypersensitivity to penicillin OR carbapenem based drugs

-pts under 1mth (requires QAS consultation)

reconstitute 2g of ceftriaxone with 18.8mL of water for injection in 20mL syringe, final concentration is 2g/20mL
