inc age smoking alcohol diabetes steroids hypocalcaemia
features
asymmetrical symptoms slow reduction vision progressive blurring of vision change colour vision starbursts around lights
key sign OE
loss of red reflex
cataracts - visual problems
generalised reduction visual acuity
starbursts around lights
glaucoma - visual problems
peripheral loss of vision
halos around lights
macular degeneration - visual problems
central loss vision
crooked/wavy appearance to straight lines
Mx
cataract surgery –> artificial lens
endopthalmitis
serious complication of cataract surgery
inflammation due to infected
Rx = intravertreal antibioitcs
