The government run annual Earthquake drills, last one took place on 12 November 2022
57 Million People took part in earthquake drills(stop,drop,cover)
The Earthquake occurred at 1 am, which made it hard for people to impalement the earthquake drills

New building regulations introduced in 2000, after the earthquake in 1999
President Erdogan introduced a fine for those who did not follow the building regulations
Immediate response to the Earthquake
11000 people arrived in Turkey to help in search and rescue operation
8000 people were rescued from collapsed building
Turkey’s government faced criticism for not deploying the military quicker
