What did you check in the CEQ
As part of this CEQ, I checked the quotation of the works matched what the PM had stated within their PMI. I then checked the quantities of the road and ensure that these were adequate. I then checked the rates were correct for the works, which matched the contract rates in the he quantities were correct.
Was the quote in line with the schedule of cost components?
The quote matched the schedule of cost components for the rest of the project. I check the contract rates that had been pre-agreed.
What was the road construction?
AC 10 Close Surface course – 40mm thick
Ac 20 Dense Binder course – 60mm thick
AC 30 Dense Base course – 140mm thick
How was the hospital intending to deal with the road into the hospital being out of action for so much longer than anticipated?
There are two main roads into the hospital. The road we are talking about was going to be broken down into sections (3 phases). Also, a road management plan had been produced by the contractor and client.
Option 1 Additional Funding - was this ever an actual option
Yes, this was a valid option. These were works are considerably different from what was included within the activity schedule. The funding for the project was only for the works outside and to the HSDU. Therefore, the client believed that they ground to gain further funding for the additional work
Option 2 - Competitively tender - Do you advise on the cost of tendering/contract production costs?
Yes, the client would have i provided the client with high level costing of producing tender doc/information and the ideal cost of reviewing and implementing a contractor
