Cardiology risk factors CC Flashcards
Stent thrombosis risk factors
- P2Y12 discontinuation,
- acute coronary syndrome presentation,
- diabetes mellitus,
- side-branch stenting,
- greater stent length,
- suboptimal stent apposition
Pericarditis: Predictors of poor prognosis
Major
• Fever >38°C
• Subacute onset
• Large pericardial effusion
• Cardiac tamponade
• Lack of response to aspirin or NSAIDS after at least I week of therapy
Minor:
• Myopericarditis
• Immunosuppression
• Trauma
• Oral anticoagulant therapy
Predictors of hospital morbidity and mortality in acute decompensated heart failure
The ADHERE (Acute Decompensated Heart Failure National Registry) found that the single best predictor for mortality was an elevated blood urea nitrogen (≥ 43 mg/dL), followed by low SBP (< 115 mmHg), and high serum creatinine (≥ 2.75 mg/dL).
Anemia and hyponatremia are common in patients with advanced HF and predict adverse outcomes in the long term and not in the short term.
