What is hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy?

A

An autosomal dominant primary cardiomyopathy which is usually due to a mutation in the gene encoding beta myosin heavy chains.
It is a common cause of sudden cardiac death. An implantable cardioverter defibrilator can be put in to reduce the incidence of sudden cardiac death.

What is wolff parkinson white syndrome?

A

Congenial condition where there is an accessory conduictive pathway. It typically causes episodes of supraventricular tachycardia and can cause sunnder cardiac death
