Postrual HTN
Drop in SBP > 20 or DBP > 10 sitting to standing
- If HR drops by > 15 BPM consider hypovolemia
- If no change in HR consider medication or neuro causes ( Parkinson’s or Diabetic autonomic Neuropathy)
Definition of malignant HTN
HTN associated with papilledema, encephalopathy, renal disease or aortic dissection. Will progress to renal failure if untreated
