stable angina, control of dysrythmias, control of myocardial insufficiency, compensated HF, s/p cardiac surgery
what are some precautions to activity in cardiac rehab?
low EF, presence of other medical conditions, active infection, abnormal labs, high O2 needs,
what is the goal of phase I?
reach 3-4 METS activity level by discharge
what is the goal of phase II?
increase exercise capacity to 5 METS
what takes place before rehab in phase II?
an exercise test with patient on medications they will be using during exercise
how many weeks post MI can a patient start resistance training?
5 weeks including participation in 3 weeks of cardiac rehab
how many weeks post CABG can a patient start resistance training?
8 weeks including participation in 3 weeks of cardiac rehab
