Cardiac Conduction System Flashcards
1
Q
What are the phases of sending an impulse down the cardiovascular conduction system?
A
- SA node sends impulse across the atria
- When the impulse is fully spread, the atria contract
- Meanwhile the impulse reaches the AV node
- There is a pause to make sure the atria have contracted
- The impulse travels down the Bundle of His
- The impulse travels down the Purkinje fibres
- Once the impulse has fully spread across the ventricles, they contract
