Cardiac Conduction System Flashcards

1
Q

What are the phases of sending an impulse down the cardiovascular conduction system?

A
  1. SA node sends impulse across the atria
  2. When the impulse is fully spread, the atria contract
  3. Meanwhile the impulse reaches the AV node
  4. There is a pause to make sure the atria have contracted
  5. The impulse travels down the Bundle of His
  6. The impulse travels down the Purkinje fibres
  7. Once the impulse has fully spread across the ventricles, they contract
