brachytherapy - internal radioactive implants
examples of antiemetics
ondansetron, metoclopramide, lorazepam, aprepitant, dexamethasone
s/s of SIADH
FVO- weight gain, increased BP, bounding pulses, edema, crackles, confusion, muscle weakness
s/s of hyponatremia
weakness, muscle cramps, anorexia
seizure, coma, death
SIADH tx
salt tablets, diuretics, fluid restriction
s/s of spinal cord suppression
back pain, weakness, loss of sensation, retention, constipation, sudden incontinence
spinal cord suppression tx
high dose corticosteroids, surgery/rad
hypercalcemia s/s
anorexia, polyuria, bone pain, kidney stones, ECG changes, muscle weakness
hypercalcemia tx
IV hydration & loop diuretics, alendronate, calcitonin, dialysis
SVCS s/s
erythema/edema of upper chest to face; SOB, stridor
tx of SVCS
depends on cause - anticoags, pull central, rad/chemo, stent placement
TLS s/s
hyperK, hyperP, high uric acid - AKI, kidney stones, dysrhythmias
tx for TLS
IV hydration, diuretics, allopurinol
