Low angle shot
• When the camera is placed below the characters eye-line, looking up.
• Typically used to show a subject as being powerful and dominant
High angle shot
• When the camera is ABOVE the characters eye-line, looking down.
• Can be used to examine power dynamics and diminish the characters being examined. Helps to elicit a viewers emotional response
Overhead shot
• Works similarly to a Birds Eye view.
• Directly above a subject to show physical movement or possibly even an interaction with the divine
The Dutch angle
•Skews the horizontal axis and tilts the shot. Can make a viewer feel uneasy or confused
Eye level angle
Sits at a neutral angle. Doesn’t impose judgment on a character
