Take the starting temperature of the water (thermometer). Measure mass of food with a balance.Ignite the food and take the temperature of the water when the food stops burning (thermometer). Repeat the test using the other food.

Make sure the volume of water measured with a measuring cylinder, burning time measured with a stopwatch.
