Important for stability of cell membrane
Glucose

Why is LDL bad?
Contributes to deposit of fats in arteries
Why is HDL good?

Diabetes
Type 1: inadequate insulin production
Type 2: ineffective use of insulin by body
Insulin
Hormone produced by pancrease regulating blood sugar levels by facilitating uptake of glucose from bloodstream into cells where it can be used as a source of energy
Symptoms
- Blurred vision
- Fatigue
- Excess hunger
- Frequent urination
Excess hunger with high blood glucose
Body cells may not be able to access glucose effectively for energy due to decreased insulin. The brain sends signals to increase appetite leading to persistent feelings of hunger
