Gross energy
the total chemical energy in food that can be converted into other forms
Digestible Energy
The amount of GE that the body is actually able to digest
Metabolisable energy
the net energy remaining after fecal and urinary energy loss
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
the amount of energy required to run the basic bodily functions and proccesses
Resting Energy Rate
the amount of energy required for an animal at rest. RER is aways larger than BMR
