it looked like it might turn into a hot war in 1948-49 in germany.

germany was split into 4 with each sector controlled by the
US, UK, France, Soviet Union
what did Britain France and USA do in 1946
they combined their lands together to make west germany without consulting the Soviet Union
what did the western zone start to look like in 1948 and why were the SU scared
in 1948 the western zone looked as if they were recovering. the SU were worried at the thought of a recovery germany
what did Stalin do in June 1948 and why
Stalin blocked all roads, rail and canal supply lines into West Berlin to make the whole of Berlin dependent on the soviet union
what did president Truman see this as and what did he do
he saw this as a test and was not prepared to leave West Berlin to become communist so he decided to take supplies into the city by aircraft
when did Stalin re-open the supply lines and what was this to the soviets
in may 1949 he re-opened them and this was a moral defeat
