on the 9th March Ed Murrow broadcasted an entire episode of his ‘see it now’ show on McCarthy using footage of his speeches and actions to criticise him

1) Army found evidence of his corruption and sent it to reporters
2) McCarthy’s accusations became more extreme
3) Media produced anti - McCarthy material such as articles and programmes
4) Cold War tensions had eased slightly after the ending of the Korean War in 1953
5) Nobody was ever convicted of being a spy or traitor
6) The televised hearing meant that the public saw his bullying tactics
