Lydia cell tumor

A

Most common testicular sex cord stream tumor, which may occur in all age groups, including young children. Lydia cells are principal source of testosterone and are capable of estrogen production, due to markedly increased aromatase expression. Estrogen production is markedly increased in tumorous growth, with secondary inhibition of LH and FSH levels. Endocrine mx found in 20-30%, most common being gynecomastia, but in prepubertal cases, precocious puberty is common
