A
damage to entire epidermis and part of dermis. may be red, tan or white. blistered and very painful. several months to heal, sometimes leave scars

A
damage only to epidermis; redness, slight swelling and pain. heals quickly no scars.

third-degree burn
A
destroy all of epidermis and dermis. skin can only heal on the sides. require skin grafts. scarring or severe disfigurement.
