Ulcer caused by burns
Curling’s Ulcer
Burn that can cause sudden cardiac arrest
Electrical Injury
Burn from UV and can be used to treat cancer
Radiation Injury

Phases of Burns?
Emergent
Acute
Rehabilitation
Phase that starts from the injury to restoration of cap permeability
Emergent
Phase that begins from diuresis to wound closing
Acute
Phase from wound closure to optimal adjustment
Rehabilitation
Assessment for Phases?
VS, UO, Hct, Electrolytes, and SG
Observation for Emergent Phase
Generalized Dehydration, Reduced Blood Vol., Decreased UO, Potassium Excess, Sodium Def, Metabolic Acidosis, Hemoconc.
Observation for Acute Phase
Increased UO, Sodium Def, Potassium Def, Metabolic Acidosis, Hemodilu.
Establish Airway, administer humidifies oxygen
Immediate Therapy
Encourage to cough, inspired air humidifier
Mild Pulmonary Injury
Bronchial Suctioning, administer bronchodilators and mucolytics
Severe Pulmonary Therapy
ET intubation
Edema of Airway
