Using one’s body and physical strength to exert power over peers. Pushing, hitting punching and other physical attacks are all forms of physical bullying. When doing this constantly or daily, it becomes bullying.
Give information on emotional bullying.
Emotional bullying is the use of words to mock, shock, tease, or ostracize another person. While it can have a physical component, that isn’t the primary means of bullying in this case. This type of bullying can be even more damaging, in the long run, than physical harm.
(okay so basically manipulation, like how dream was to tommy while he was exiled from the SMP ;-;)
What causes cyber bullying? In other words, why does a bully bully?
Many bullies have been bullied before themselves. They may bully others out of jealousy, insecurity or to make them feel like they’ve ‘gained more power.’
What are the consequences of cyber bullying?
For the bully, consequences can be very serious when the bully is found out. Depending how bad the bullying was, the consequences will be worse or better. For example, suspension from school.
For the victim, consequences are worse, in a twisted way. Cyberbullying can result in increased distress for the victims along with increased anger and frustration. They will vent this out on various occasions, and it might force them to get addicted to the virtual world where they can have several identities to hide their real one.
What advice would you give to someone who’s being bullied?
- Go to an adult you trust and talk to them! If you don’t feel comfortable doing so, you can anonymously contact Childline at 08 000 555 5555.
- Stand up to the bully. Tell them, “ENOUGH, YOU FOOLISH PEASANT.” Then walk away. By not showing a reaction you take all of their power.
- Don’t be alone. Stick with your group if friends that will support you and make you feel good about yourself.
