what is the pathophysiology of brown-sequard syndrome?
A
anatomical distruption of the nerve fibre tracts in one half of the spinal cord
- descending lateral corticospinal tract
- ascending dorsal column
- ascending spinothalamic tract

what is the presentation of brown-sequard syndrome?
A
ipsilateral hemiplegia
ipsilateral loss of proprioception and vibration sense
ipsilateral hyperreflexia
contralateral loss of pain and temperature

A
cord trauma infectious/inflammatory lesion neoplasm demyelination epidural haematoma disc herniation

what is the management for brown squared syndrome?
A
depends on the cause
surgery - external cord compression
medical - infectious/inflammatory or demyelinating causes
