Chronic infection of the bronchi leading to Permanent dilation of the affected airways
What are the signs of bronchiectasis?
Crackles of the affected area of the lungs
Halitosis - bad breath
What are the symptoms of bronchiectasis?
Cough
sputum - foul smelling
fever
malaise
What investigations are used in the diagnosis of bronchiectasis?
Chest xray
CT scan
Sputum culture
Antibody count
What are the treatments of brochiectasis?
Surgery to remove affeted tissues
Dilators
antibiotics if infected
Anti-inflammatory
