Q
Lower lobe (Anterior Basal Segment):
Table position
A

Foot of bed elevated 20”

17
Q
Lower lobe (Anterior Basal Segment):
Pt position?
A

Pt lies on side, head down, pillow under knees

The side that you are draining should be on top - aka, lie on L side if you want to drain the R anterior basal segment

18
Q
Lower lobe (Anterior Basal Segment):
Technique?
A

Pt claps with slightly cupped hands over lower ribs

19
Q
Lower lobe (Lateral Basal Segment):
Table position?
A

Foot of bed elevated 20”

20
Q
Lower lobe (Lateral Basal Segment):
Pt position?
A

Pt lies on abdomen, head down
Then rotated 1/4 turn upward
Upper leg is flexed over pillow for support

(To drain L lateral basal segment, pt would lie on R side)

21
Q
Lower lobe (Lateral Basal Segment):
Technique?
A

Pt claps over uppermost portion of lower ribs

22
Q
Lower lobe (Posterior Basal Segment):
Table position?
A

Foot of bed elevated 20”

23
Q
Lower lobe (Posterior Basal Segment):
Pt position?
A

Pt lies on abdomen, head down, with pillow under hips

24
Q
Lower lobe (Posterior Basal Segment):
Technique?
A

Pt claps over lower ribs close to spine on each side

25
Q
Lower lobe (Superior Segment):
Table position?
A

FLAT

26
Q
Lower lobe (Superior Segment):
Pt position?
A

Pt lies on abdomen with TWO pillows under hips

27
Q
Lower lobe (Superior Segment):
Technique?
A

Pt claps over middle back at tip of scapula on either side of the spine
