-Brighton is a city with a large number of tourist attractions such as the beach and the pier
The Brighton Marina is used for boats, leisure, retail, and restaurants meaning it is important to be protected
What are the physical geographical processes at Brighton
The prevailing sw wind and wave direction move sediment from w to e.
- Sediment brough from Shoreham. Lsd- increases the amount of sediment further east of the marina
- Sub-aerial processes affect the cliffs.
- The chalk and sand cliffs make them less resistant to weathering processes.

- Shingle beaches.
- Cliffs-sand and chalk.

- shingle beach. Seawalls are located between the beach and marina drive, which benefits social impacts as there is a promenade on top.
- Shingle is monitored twice a year (spring and autumn (before and after peak tourism times)) to see the effect of the groynes.

-Soft engineering is not an option due to the severity of the impact the coast has on Brighton. This is as it needs to maintain the tourist industry, protect businesses, protect the residential population and transport link
