Bradypnea
Slow breathing rate, can be caused by CNS depression, sleeping
Hypoventilation
breathing that is too shallow or too slow to meet the needs of the body, have too much CO2, acidic
Hyperventilation
rapid and deep breathing, low CO2, can be caused by panic attacks-b/c of sympathetic nervous system
Tachypnea
rapid breathing can be caused by exercise b/c of increase of O2 demand
Dyspnea
difficulty breathing
Apnea
w/out breathing
Ataxic
no movement in chest wall
Sputum
a mixture of saliva and mucus coughed up from the respiratory tract
Hemoptysis
coughing up blood
Orthopnea
difficult breathing laying down
Rash
Could be a sign of anaphylaxis
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Acid coming from stomach and esophagus
