Brainstorm-Wilson Flashcards
A lesion to what tract will lead to what?
??????
anterior spinal artery messes up
paraplegia and quadraplegia
if there is a lesion in the spinal nerve what symptoms would you have
both motor and sensory symptoms
Identify level: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, or sacral
he showed cervical in class
lateral motor nucleus
contain motor neurons that support the upper and lower limb; not found in the thoracic section
Would you see medial motor nucleus in all levels?
yes: goes from neck all the way down
Would you see lateral motor nucleus in all levels?
not at the thoracic
Dorsolateral fasciculus is Zone of lassieur
place where pain fibers come and enter going down several segments of the SC
What are the laminas in the substantia gelatinosa, NP, and MZ?
MZ: I
substantia gelatinosa: II
NP: III, IV, V
Marginal zone questions you need to understand before going to the SF2
???
Ventral white commissure
axons that connect the right and left half of the SC
involved in reflexes (crossed and flexor)
the axons coordinating two sides of the body go right through here
right in front of the central canal that is filled with CSF or ventricular system
Only responsible for the pins you see (no pins not tested)
lateral corticospinal tract is not on there
lateral, dorsal, and anterior funiculi
major regions of white matter because specific tracts are found in specific parts of this white matter
vestibulospinal tract
very important he said ??
What is the function of dorsal root?
for sensory
The dorsal root contains afferent (sensory) fibres passing from the spinal nerve to the spinal cord. The cell bodies of these fibres are located in the dorsal root ganglion.
