How is it graded?
Severity?
Cure?
Graded 1-4
Grade 2 - 4 = non curative
Tx for grade 3/4?
Often metastasised
Chemo/palliative care

Dont metastasise outside CNS
1^ Tumours
Astrocytomas are graded what by who?
1-4 by WHO
1 = benign
4 = Glioblastoma (v bad prognosis, death within a year)
1^ tumours
Sx?

CN6 palsy
Focal neurology
Epileptic seizures
Lethargy and weight loss
Dx of 1^ tumour?
MRI head - locate tumour then Biopsy - determine grade
Why no Lumbar puncture?
High ICP of undetermined cause = massive CI
Tx for 1^ tumour?
Surgery (remove tumour if poss and decrease ICP)
Chemo (before/during/after surgery)
Steroids (eg. dexamethasone) may help
