Clinical Signs
Early
* dry nose
* cows isolating themselves
* behavior changes
After
* fever
* depression / lower head
* anorexia
* tachypnea / coughing
* nasal / eye discharge

Prevention
- Neuter / Deworm / Dehorn / Vaccinate calves before weaning
- Vaccinate calves before shipping
- Rest period after arrival (12-24 hrs, no more than 48)
- Provide water and hay once arrived
- Monitor temperature of cow
- Perform antimicrobial therapy
Tuberculosis
- Reportable disease
- Diagnose with TB test - intradermal
- Test affected herds every 3 months

Parasite of nasal passage and sinuses
* affects sheep more than goats
* treat by deworming with Ivermectin

- Adult females deposit larvae near nostrils
- Larvae migrate to sinuses
- Sneezed out to complete life cyce
Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus
(BRSV)
- Affects young cattle primarily
- Prevent with vaccines
- Diagnose by isolating virus - take paired serum samples 2-3 weeks apart
- Treat secondary bacterial infections

Clinical Signs
- Fever
- Anorexia
- Depression
- Increased RR
- Nasal and Eye Discharge
