  • Morbity rate can be > 25% (affected herd)

Pathogenesis

A
  • Initial stage: marked lachrymation blepharospasm
  • Later stages: severe inflammatory changes, including iris folding and the development of a bluish opacity in the cornea
  • Focal fibrin aggregations in the anterior chamber

A
  • Often unilateral
  • Corneal oedema +/ vascularisation
  • Hypopyon/aqueous flare/fibrin
  • Iris swelling, miosis
  • Pain
  • Vision loss
  • Disease course 7-10 days
