- Achilles renounces his anger to Agamemnon
- Agamemnon stays seated blames Zeus, Destiny, fury as the causes of his blind judgement. Offers “immense compensation”
Achilles wishes
wants to fight now
Odysseus suggests eating first
Agamemnon’s gifts
all those he previously promised
Odysseus and others fetch them
swears an oath that he never slept with Briseis
Briseis sees Patroclus
she shrieks “my hearts delight” because he had always been kind to her
Achilles is fed
Zeus sends Athene to feed him ambrosia
Achilles preparing to fight +Xanthus
arming scene
Xanthus tells Achilles they will bring him home this time but predict his fate and death at the hand of a god and a man
Achilles angrily accepts this

Achilles raises the battle cry
drives his horses forward
Achilles new incite
he sees the quarrel as a feud over a girl Achilles loved Patroclus far more than her. It grieves him more than if it had been the death of his father or son
Zeus cares
when Achilles weeps about his fathers sadness Zeus SON OF Cronus took pity
