They protect soft and vital body organs, and the skull protects the brain.
How do bones move?
Skeletal muscles attached by tendons, use the bones as levers to move.
What do bones store?
Fat - stored in the internal cavities.
Minerals - calcium and phosphorus.
What is hematopoiesis?
Blood cell formation within the marrow cavities.
What are the 5 bone functions?

What are the 2 subdivided sections of the skeleton?
Axial - form the longitudinal axis of the body.
Appendicular - bones of limbs and girdles.
Bones have a supportive function, what are some examples of how they support the body?
Bones support and anchor the soft organs, bones in the leg support the body trunk and the rib cage supports the thoracic wall.
