Integumentary System
Structures consists of skin, hair, nails.
Functions is to protect tissues under the skin from injury and infection. Also water regulation.
Skeletal System
Structures consists of bones, cartilage, joints.
Function is to support the body and enable movement with muscular system. Also creates rbc, wbc, plasma.
Muscular System
Structure consists of skeletal muscles, tendons.
Function is to help maintain body temperature, moving blood, bodily fluids and digestive track.
Nervous System
Structure consists of brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves.
Function is to detect and process sensory information and activate bodily system.
Endocrine System
Structure consists of pituitary gland, thyroid gland, pancreas, adrenal gland, testes/ovaries.
Function is to secrete hormones, regulate bodily functions such as growth, reproductive system and nutrient use.
Cardiovascular System
Structure consists of heart, blood vessels.
Function is to deliver oxygen and nutrients to the tissues which is delivered via blood.
Lymphatic System
Structure consists of thymus, lymph nodes, spleen, lymphatic vessels.
Function is to store wbc, includes the immune system, and picks up fluid leaked from blood vessels.
Respiratory System
Structure consists of lungs, nasal passage, trachea.
Function is to deliver oxygen to the blood and remove waste such as carbon dioxide.
Digestive System
Structure consists of stomach, liver, gall bladder, large and small intestines.
Function is to break down food, absorb nutrients, and remove waste.
Urinary System
Structure consists of kidneys, urinary bladder.
Function is to eliminate nitrogenous water from the body and regulate the bodies water, electrolytes, and acid base balance of food.
Reproductive System
Structure consists of epididymis, testes, ovaries, uterus, mammary glands.
Function is to produce and provide nutrients for offspring.
