How many body systems are there?
11
What are all 11 body systems?
Skeletal, Circulatory, Musculoskeletal, Nervous, Respiratory, Digestive, Immune, Excretory, Reproductive, Endocrine/Hormonal, Integumentary, Lymphatic
What does the integumentary system do?
Protects body from the outside world, retain body fluid, protect disease, eliminate was products, regulate body temp, includes skin, hair, nails, glands, and nerves.
What does the Lymphatic System do?
Part of immune system, protects from illness invaders, maintains body fluid levels, absorbs fats in digestive tract, and remove cell waste.
What does the circulatory system do?
Transport nutrients (oxygen and glucose) around body, remove waste (carbon dioxide, heat) from cells and body.
What does the respiratory system do?
To get oxygen in the lungs and to the cells for respiration, cell energy, expel carbon dioxide.
What does the musculoskeletal system do?
Provides structure, support and movement for body.
What does the excretory system do?
Remove processed waste from body.
What does the nervous system do?
Controls the body, communication systems and regulatory system/homeostasis (internal body temp).
What does the endocrine system do?
Send hormone messages to organs so they do their job.
What does the digestive system do?
Break down food to smaller particles so it can be used around the body.
What does the immune system do?
Keeps the body healthy and fights infections.
What does the reproductive system do?
Market the body reproduce and create offspring to keep species alive.
