The Small Intestine’s purpose is to absorb nutrients needed for body and get rid of unnecessary components. It plays a role in the immune system, acting as a barrier to a multitude of flora the inhabits the gut and to make sure no harmful bacteria enters the body.

A

All the blood leaving the Stomach and Intestines passes through the liver. The liver processes the blood and breaks down, balances, and creates the nutrients and also metabolises drugs into forms that are easier to use for the rest of the body or that are not toxic.
