why did he own guns?
he had the guns removed from him after previous domestic violence but they were later returned to him
what was the aim of the campaign?
bobby turnball started the campaign to change gun laws and sought to have a gun hotline established for people to report concerns
how did it change and affect policies?
he launched a petition, which gained 20,000 signatures, regularly appeared in the media seeking support and lobbied mp’s for the changes
what was the actual policies?
amendments of firearms act 1968 - preventing any person who receives a suspended sentence of 3 months from purchasing or possessing a firearm.
any incident of domestic violence should prompt a police review of whether a firearm certificate should continue.
what was a weakness of the campaign?
the funds for the hotline was never available for it to be launched
