blood supply of the cerebrum Flashcards
neuro exam 3
the anterior circulation comes from what artery?
internal carotid
where does the internal carotid come from?
the common carotid arteries in the neck
what is the course of the internal carotid arteries?
The internal carotid arteries enter the cranial cavity through the carotid canal
Courses though temporal bone (petrous part)

Emerges from cavernous sinus and enters the subarachnoid space
Gives off several branches
what branches does the internal carotid arteries give off?
Ophthalmic arteries (not visible)
Posterior communicating arteries
Anterior choroidal arteries
Anterior cerebral arteries (ACA)
Middle cerebral arteries (MCA)
what does the anterior cerebral artery give off
anterior communicating arteries
what does the middle cerebral arteries give off?
lentuculostriate arteries
