Blood Supply In The Kidney Flashcards

1
Q

What are the forces that cause plasma to filitrate in the kidneys?

Q

What is the autoregulatory response to an increase in blood pressure?

A

Afftere aterioles constrict therefore keeping the glomeular filitration rate the same

Q

What is the autoregularory response to a decrease in blood pressure>

A

The afferent atriole dilated and therefore the GFR is unchanged

Q

How does glomeular tubular feedback affect the glomeular filtration rate?

A

The juxtaglomeular appartus realeases different chemicals, to reduce the GFR adenosine, a vasodilator of the EA is realeased, whereas to increase the GFR prostagladins, vasodilitors of the AA are realeased

Q

How would you compare the size of corticla and juxtamedullary nephrons?

A

Cortical nephrons are found in the outer part of the coretx and have a small glomeruls and loop of henle, whereas juxtamedullary nephrons are ofund in the inner part of cortex near to the medullay, have a big glomerulus and a longer loop of henle

Q

How would you compare the blood supply’s of the cortical and the Juxtamedullary nephrons?

A

In the cortical nephrons AA>EA in diameter, and the ea forms the pertiubular capilleries, whereas in juxtamedullary nephrons the AA= EA and the EA forms the vasa recta

Q

Compare the sympathetic nerve innervations of the cortical and the Juxtamedullary nephrons?

A

Rich sympatheic nervous innervation in the cortical nephrons, whereas there is poor sympatheic nervous inneveration

Q

Compare concentration of renin in the juxtamedullary and the cortical nephrons?

A
